The video: horrible form, changes moves every 3 seconds and doesn’t even try.
literally watched one that was about why prayer pulses dont hurt or do anything and his elbows were like 6 inches apart. I was like you’re doing it completely wrong?!?
To me a good workout is one that challenges you, has you engage your muscles, use proper form, you feel it while working out and might be sore the next day; Casey videos does that and I like that she has no equipment body weight videos cause not everyone has a home gym sometimes the only the that is available is the ground. I also like that if you try it and think it’s too easy you can make the weightless workout harder by adding weights to it. I suggest doing it the original way first though

Oh, I thought this was going to be about inviting more people to pilates and push the stereotype that “pilates is for women”. I can completely see what this song is though, and it’s funny! And as a guy in this community, a lot more people might have their minds changed about the intensity of pilates if they try.

I remembered when i was first trying to do that V-sit and shaking like earthquake. But now I’m improved with you 💪🏻
Weight lifting only builds muscular strength, which is great if you’re only going for a type of look, but muscular strength without muscular endurance (which is what pilates builds) is not very practical, plus pilates also helps flexibility which is something weight lifters tend to lack which can lead to serious injury for them down the line.
You can tell the gym rats from the health aficionados. Most people lift now a days to look jacked or fit but as you said, no muscle endurance and they always look so stiff, including the women.
@celeste3100 Agreed! These people are worried about making “big gains” and don’t do anything that might hinder that, but big muscles =/= health!
And posture… Posture is so important and some weight lifters don’t work it and get injuried

Pilates was actually CREATED by a man. I heard a story where he invented it while he was a POW and wanted a way to keep his body and mind sharp while he had no access to equipment. That’s hard AF!

I am a man and I have been lifting weights for 10 years, and since 2013 Pilates is something I added it into my routine and I love it. Pilates is awesome and even if I cant get to the gym I do a mat workout and never miss a day of exercise. If I could restart my fitness journey I would have done Pilates my first year and then started lifting weights afterwards. By doing Pilates first for a year I would have built muscle, prepped my body for lifting weights and avoided some of the beginner mistakes I made in terms of lifting. I love Pilates!
