  • D Davi says:

I was just talking about why food is being thrown away when people in the America, better yet the world, could benefit from this food.

  • Julie Worthey says:

Forget worrying about packaging and selling the overflow – build warehouses with refrigeration, and let people come and just take it!!! Instead of throwing it away!! This is shameful in a country like ours!!

    • Dawn Elizabeth says:

Or, the excess food could go to the food banks, churches, school lunch programs, shelters, at people’s residences and or other non profits.

  • Erin Duverger says:

They can literally just give the food away but I guess people dont think like that , Rather throw it away lmao

    • kfrb1 says:

It’s not that easy and with travel restrictions and labor shortages getting things to people before they rot is difficult. Some of the packaging necessary for retail isn’t even processed here in the US. Wholesalers can go to jail for selling retail.

  • Lisa Cabello says:

But these people are getting paid by insurence companies for their loss American ppl who cannot afford food are suffering. I do not believe for one moment we cannot find a solution. I know personally farmers who have euthanized their animals this will come to get us in the aftermath. There will b food shortages. Not today but down the road.

  • Drew says:

Does the government pay them for the loss therefore it’s thrown away.

  • tmc che says:

Many people are buying food & supplies in large quantities, some call it hoarding. This behavior seems rational, given the media scare news and personal observations of depleted or empty shelves.

Take the institutional food that is accumulating for lack of demand and send it to grocery stores. Put a price tag on it, sell it at discount to normal small-packaged retail products.

In this way, so called “hoarders” will only need to buy a single package of a product to “hoard.”

Why do we as a society make everything more complicated than it needs to be? Remember when Nike had the slogan “just do it!” ? Back then, even democrats thought they were Americans first.

  • Truth Seeker says:

We need to have the government buy all of that extra food and then give it to the red cross or some other organization that can distribute it to those in need.

  • Lena Martinez says:

That’s right why is food being discarded? Why we go to the store and can’t find produce or groceries

  • Zohra Amon says:

    Wow this is really sad
