Just today March 27, 2020: First known cat infected with coronavirus reported in Belgium… A cat in Belgian has tested positive for the coronavirus after catching the potentially deadly bug from an infected owner, officials said Friday.

The sick pet in Liège tested positive after showing classic symptoms of COVID-19 — including difficulty breathing — a week after its owner first fell sick, health officials told a press conference, the Brussels Times reports.

While it is the first known infection of a cat, two dogs in Hong Kong have previously tested positive — with the first, a 17-year-old Pomeranian, dying after returning home from quarantine.

  • LaTanya Porter says:

  • Cindy Michaud says:

I’ve listened to Dr John Campbell of the UK and he discussed this; the only pet that tested positive was probably contaminated on its coat/mouth etc, by its infected owner’s affection; the animal itself did NOT have covid19.

Doctor Oz was blasting the media a couple weeks ago for covering the coronavirus. Now he’s exploiting the crap out of it and uploading video like crazy 🤑👎. And for that reason I’m out!

  • Rachelle McKellips says:

I thought the same thing maybe pets are susceptible, my cat is thankfully indoor only

  • Empress Dubai says:

Just a reminder : Be careful inhaling all the chemicals we’re using during this time. Some of those cleaning agents can also cause respiratory issues.
